Mixing up-tempo grooves ("Snatch"), obscure R&B songs ("House of Blue Lights"), Bud Powell's "Monopoly" and Curley Cooke's "The Chicken Glide", this album captured where my musical head was at early in the nineteen-seventies. What I hear on this album is wild enthusiasm, deep love for my fellow musicians and a brief attempt at sage advice ("Down to the Bone").
